Last week, UNITE Partnerships had the unforgettable experience of attending the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championships in Ottawa. Being part of the action reminded us why hockey runs so deep in the veins of Canadians—it’s more than just a sport; it’s a symbol of our shared identity.
We’re incredibly proud to be working alongside Hockey Canada on their corporate partnership program, and seeing this world-class event in person only strengthened our commitment to supporting Canada’s game.
While Team Canada wasn’t part of the final weekend showdown (we all wished for a different outcome!), it didn’t take away from the electrifying atmosphere and community impact. The numbers speak for themselves: over 300,000 tickets sold, 80,000+ fans at Fan Fest, and millions tuning in across the country. Not to mention $3.2 million generated from Hockey Canada 50/50 ticket sales and an astounding 15,000 meals saved through the Tablée recovery program, preventing three tons of food from going to waste.

While in Ottawa, Hockey Canada also took the opportunity to make a groundbreaking announcement. They will be hosting five IIHF Women’s Championships over the next five years! This lineup includes two Women’s World Championships and three U18 Women’s World Championships. This comes at an exciting time for women’s hockey. For the first time ever, over 100,000 women and girls are playing hockey in Canada—a testament to the incredible growth and momentum of the sport. With inspiring leaders like Katherine Henderson and Marin Hickox leading the charge, the future of women’s hockey in Canada is bright.
To our friends at Hockey Canada, congratulations on hosting such a phenomenal event.
